I’ve been deprived of art museums as of late, and in a perfect world, I would finally be standing in Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room at The Broad, no longer living vicariously through old Tumblr reblogs. The Downtown location of MCASD draws its visitors with massive installations that usually cover an entire room. However, the collections here are much smaller compared to the La Jolla location, but i’m just glad that I didn’t have to commute super far, for a limited amount of time, to see Robert Irwin’s Light & Space. Though I wish more exhibitions were featured here, the tremendous workload that these artists put into their pieces, no matter how simple they seem as a whole, along with their thought process, further elevates me to appreciate the craft and create.
