Mind’s eye. Your third eye. Looking at a subject for content, symbolism and form. For this project, my professor wanted us to explore a place that we loved, and I chose Mission Beach because it’s the Santa Monica of San Diego(I haven’t been to Santa Cruz).I love the thrill of rollercoasters just as much as the crashing waves. I love the cast of colorful characters I meet on the boardwalk. I love the ocean and its many moods. He went on to say that your personal assets distinguish you from other photographers, regardless of whether or not the shot you’ve chosen had been taken by hundreds of other photographers before you. How do you see that same subject? And how does your mind work to make it your own? This was also my first time working with a DSLR in years. I’ll admit, I’m still a little rusty and I need plenty of practice!
